Firefoxy Too

I'm usually not quick on the uptake with technology news and the like, but since I have been so happy with Firefox I thought I would throw a plug in for the release of Firefox 2.0, scheduled for October 24. It has been available for a day or so via their FTP servers with a nominal amount of very logical digging around. I downloaded it earlier today and have been playing with it. It works fine. A couple of your old add-ons might not work, but that's OK.

There are a few add-ons I am an especially big fan of. I thought I would give them a little press. Unfortunately I don't really have the energy to write a bunch about them. Just search for them or whatever and see how they work out for you. I look at them all as being pretty much essential for me, personally, nowadays.

FireFTP: FTP client for Firefox. Awesome.
IETab: Use the embedded IE engine within Firefox tabs. Useful for testing. Also useful for being logged into the same site under two different usernames.
FoxyTunes: Control virtually any media player from your stauts bar. I use this sometimes, could live without it, but its a nice addition.
Gmail Manager: keep tabs on several Gmail accounts at once, again from your status bar. Pretty nice if you have multiple accounts. I have too many already. I really like this.
VideoDownloader: I just added this sucker on today, and its not working for me...but supposedly it will let you save videos off of a number of different video sites (a la youtube, google, ifilm, etc).
