I ran across this ad on the NY Times online highlighting the Time's record for endorsements of past presidential candidates.
Ostensibly the Times is trying to tell us that the three men pictured were good picks since they are often cited as some of the greatest presidents. It's funny that they picked those three: Lincoln, Wilson and FDR. Those three men are what libertarians would deem our most dictatorial presidents. Lincoln because he suspended habeas corpus, didn't allow the states to exercise their Constitutional right to seceed and murdred hundreds of thousands of people. Wilson because he lied about his intentions to enter WWI in order to get elected, instituted the Federal Reserve and the Income Tax and FDR for socializing everything, seizing gold from citizens and instituting the ponzi scheme of Social Security. I'm sure the Times couldn't give a flying fuck about libertarians and libertarians likewise don't give a fuck about the NY Times. I just thought it was a funny juxtaposition.
By the way, I'm not voting tomorrow. I've given it a lot of thought. I no longer support our system of government, including our method of electing representative, presidents and voting on propositions. I'm boycotting the entire thing until a better system comes along.
